On the stability of viscoelastic tapered rotors with internal flow

In this paper, the stability of viscoelastic tapered rotors with internal flow is investigated. The constitutive equation material described on basis Kelvin–Voigt model. Using Hamilton's principle, governing motion for rotor system formulated. Galerkin discretization technique then employed to discrete partial differential equations. Thus, complex frequencies in first two modes simply supported are calculated, which utilized discriminate system. Then, evolution process analyzed. Also, divergence velocity and spinning speed computed numerically. Finally, a comprehensive parametric discussion carried out evaluate effect parameters such as hollowness ratio, mass taper viscosity coefficient critical fluid–structure interaction results show that flow, experiences “stable-first mode divergence-stable-first flutter-first divergence-first flutter.” dynamic behavior depends strongly velocity, viscoelasticity material.
